About Emily
I am a guitar tutor with 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. I have guided over 250 students from beginners to advanced performers across all guitar styles and levels. My lessons cover scales, modes, theory, chord harmony, rhythm, songwriting, and performance preparation. I am passionate about helping students develop creative independence and a playing style that is authentically their own. My lessons are engaging, structured, and always tailored to the individual student. I have coached students for live performances, auditions, and original recording projects. My guitar lessons build strong technical foundations while keeping every session creative, musical, and genuinely rewarding. I begin with a clear assessment of each student's level, goals, and preferred style so every lesson is immediately relevant from day one. Warm-ups develop scales, chord transitions, and picking exercises to build coordination and muscle memory for fluent playing. Theory is taught progressively alongside practical playing connecting every concept directly to the music the student is working on throughout. Jazz students work on chord voicings, improvisation, and the harmonic language of the jazz tradition. Blues and rock students develop pentatonic scales, bending, vibrato, and authentic expressive delivery. Backing tracks develop timing, groove, and genuine musical expressiveness throughout every lesson. Songwriters receive focused coaching on chord progressions, melody writing, and turning ideas into finished original compositions. Clear weekly practice plans are provided after every lesson. My commitment is to help every student become a confident, creative, and genuinely passionate guitarist.
