My lessons are rooted in the belief that everyone has a unique artistic voice. I create a supportive, exploratory environment where you can build technical skills while developing your personal creative vision. My approach combines structured guidance with open-ended discovery, tailored to your interests and goals—whether you’re exploring painting for the first time or refining your portfolio for advanced study.
A typical session begins with a brief warm-up exercise to ease into the creative process, followed by focused skill-building in areas such as color theory, composition, or observational drawing. We then apply these skills to a longer project, where I provide individualized feedback and encouragement every step of the way.
What sets me apart is my dual perspective as a practicing visual artist and an experienced museum teaching artist. I bridge studio practice with art historical context and conceptual thinking, helping you not only create compelling work but also understand its place in the wider visual conversation.
These lessons are designed for students of all ages and levels—from complete beginners to advanced artists preparing for college applications or professional exhibitions. I specialize in painting, drawing, and mixed-media, and I am passionate about guiding each student toward meaningful artistic growth.
