Experienced tutor with a passion for educating - English tutor with Will

Will is an excellent scholar and teacher. Not only is he skilled in the art of writing persuasive, well structured, analytical essays but he is a great tutor. He does not only teach you the technique of writing but assists you in building your confidence with writing — whatever the task may be. He has helped me for nearly three years now and I could not recommend anyone more due to his charismatic and kind nature. He is not only your tutor but also your supporter; as well as being a dedicated academic himself.

Will has a good understanding of the English boards and is so well read, he is the only Literature teacher that I could find that has an understanding of the igcse works. He commands good attention and work from my teenage son.

I have known Will for several years now and consider myself extremely lucky to have witnessed (and received) his academic rigour and kind support of fellow classmates.

Having read a multitude of his classwork (including summative and formative assessments, case studies etc.) I have come to appreciate the sincere, unique and constructive approach he takes to rather challenging prompts. He has extended his sound understanding of the law to his fellow classmates, guiding them in tackling an extremely complex subject from a wholly different angle. He has acquired a clear understanding of the conceptual framework on which the English legal system is built through his in-depth study of primary and secondary materials and has shared his enthusiasm for further learning with his classmates.

Will is both an excellent listener and teacher, demonstrating his natural affinity to the law through his involvement in extra-curricular activities. Being the founder of the University’s mooting and debating societies, he demonstrates commitment to the law itself and in practice. Moreover, he has supported his strong desire to become a criminal barrister through persistent volunteering in Crown Court. Recently, he discussed a multi-handed murder trial involving defendants under the age of 18 and appeared deeply affected by the current state of Britain’s criminal system. I am positive that Will will provide an equal amount of enthusiasm in his tutoring sessions. This is not to say however, that he lets his personal affluences obstruct conceptual understanding.

On multiple occasions, Will has gone against the stream and produced essays of excellent quality, causing him to stand out amongst a number of highly intellectual and ambitious students. He has assisted me in pursuing and developing a writing style of my own, bespoke however, to the standards set by legal academics. Thus, he will be of great assistance to anyone struggling to grasp legal concepts and tackle complex essay prompts, case studies and more.

Lastly, on a rather personal note, Will has always been an extremely reliable friend. His trustworthy and dependable character is reflected in his attitude to legal work as well as his classmates. He creates a comfortable learning atmosphere, and does not become judgemental in the face of his classmates' ‘mistakes.’
Rather, he encourages a ’trial and error’ attitude, claiming (always) that in order to understand and fully appreciate the law (and the beauty in apparent redundancy) we must make mistakes, identify our weaknesses and adjust to succeed.

From the first lesson Will has shown great amounts of enthusiasm and passion to both teaching and English literature as a subject.
