About James
It is just mesmerizing and very pleasant for me to teach students and guide them in a certain direction. They will learn and hone their discipline through passion and patience.
I am a high school student at the Bronx High School of Science. I have played the violin for 10 years and recently won the American Protege Romantic Competition. Not only that, but I also performed in Lincoln Center for 8 years with my orchestra and have soloed at Carnegie Hall.

I would first ask them their past experiences with music and what instruments they have played before. Foremost, I would emphasize posture. Violin is an instrument that is unnatural to a human. A well-developed posture will get you from beginner to an intermediate. This boosts confidence, destresses yourself, and make the sound more resonant in a performance hall. Then, I would begin the lesson by doing scales, which is very fundamental.
You must be dedicated and willing to learn. If you have a passion for music, I would be more than happy o teach you.

1. What am I having trouble with music right now (rhythm, counting, sight-reading, pieces, scales, etudes, etc.)?
