About Thibault
I’m a university student and a native French speaker, and I’ve been tutoring French for the last three years. Being half-French and entirely bilingual, I bring total native fluency to my lessons, combined with a deep understanding of how the UK exam system works. My own approach to language learning helped me get straight A*s at GCSE and A-Level (in other languages too!), and I want to show other students that the top grades are completely achievable when you master the right mechanics.
On average, the students I’ve taught end up getting three grades higher than they were predicted.
I really enjoy tutoring because there's nothing better than seeing a language finally click for someone who has been struggling with the grammar or vocab. I’m energetic, relaxed, and very easy to get along with, which I think is massive for building up a student's confidence. Speaking a foreign language can be intimidating, so lessons shouldn't feel like an interrogation. They need to be a space where you feel comfortable making mistakes, mispronouncing words, and asking questions.
Whether we are breaking down complex grammar rules, nailing exam essay structures, or just practising conversational fluency, my focus is on making French feel logical, manageable, and much less daunting.

Every session starts with a sharp focus tied directly to the exam. You will walk away from every single lesson having mastered a specific grammar strategy, essay technique, or listening and reading question type. We stick strictly to the specification and target exactly what the examiners are looking for to get you those top marks.
That being said, learning a language shouldn't feel like boring, passive memorisation. You actually absorb a language when you connect with it. Because of that, I tailor the lessons entirely around how you think and learn, making the vocabulary and conversation topics personal to you. When you actually understand the logic behind French grammar and syntax, the language clicks naturally and becomes incredibly hard to forget under exam pressure.
