About Candice
I offer a free lesson book. We can do in person or online lessons. You will learn to play a song right from the first session.
Teaching violin and viola has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever done. I love teaching and I am passionate about all music. My goal is to get you playing for real! I know how to play in a band and an orchestra, so I want you to experience the same! It is fun! I am certified in the O'Connor Method for strings, and I have been teaching for over 40 years.
I started teaching in a private school right out of High school while I attended college.
I am a certified teacher and use the OConnormethod.com method

We usually start with how to hold the violin/viola then how to play a few tunes using pizzacato (plucking the strings). I have some fun ways to teach note reading and then we move on to holding the bow and finger placement on the strings
I have worked with all ages from 3 yrs old to 75. I do prefer students who are at least 8 yrs old or up
I LOVED playing in the NTSO in the spring concert and recently played at the Stories of the Stones in Forkston Twp., PA for a civil war history festival.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you have an instrument? Is it the right size? 4/4 size is for age 13 and up.
3/4 size usually fits ages 11-13. 1/2 size ages 8-10 and 1/4 size fits 6-8. This is of subject to the size of the student.

Perfect! Ms. Candice is an absolutely amazing music educator! I had a bit of trouble grasping certain things, but she was very patient and helpful in helping me understand what I was doing wrong. I highly recommend her if you are just starting out with music or if you are an adult thinking about taking lessons.

I can get flustered and loose patience while trying to learn and Candice is so great with working with me. She’s so talented, is a great teacher and I recommend her to anyone.
Blessing that we found her. She is affordable and she cares that my daughter is learning. My daughter was even able to write her very own song for the violin and we haven't even been in lessons for a year yet!!!
Highly recommend!!!!Mrs. Blake is a great teacher. She has more than enough patience and my son simply adores her.

I usually charge by the month and if you miss a lesson, we do a makeup class as long as you let me know a few hours ahead that you will not be able to make the planned lesson. Lessons are 20 per half hour
