I am absolutely thrilled to be taking vocal lessons with Michelle. Her energy is infectious, and she is extremely dedicated to helping you improve your technique. What can I say, Michelle and Robert are extraordinary teachers their work is amazing , they are very professional, patients, with good sense of humor. We have seen a lot a progress on my daughter's performance ever since she start classes with them.

My daughter has been taking lessons for nearly two months now with Michelle and Robert. She's a high school freshman in choir and theater. Their training program is top notch. They continue to motivate my daughter with positive reinforcement, helping her with upcoming auditions, and challenging her with song selections to expand her range and strengthen her vocals. We're in it for the long haul, but have already seen a difference in her confidence, vocal strength and range. My daughter is excited every week to go to lessons and loves her teachers.

I would not have been prepared whatsoever for the (what seemed like) never ending process of college auditioning. While college auditions are typically anxiety boosters, Michelle and Robert’s technique and ways of preparation over prepared me to the point where the audition was a breeze. With their help using mock auditions including sight singing, how to self warm up, posture and the necessity for 3-5 pieces of repertoire that fit my image and sound, I would not be where I am today. I knew nothing of the tediousness that a college audition was. Throughout my practice we worked on acting, something I needed major reform on. With practice, my acting made me more confident performing my piece as well as engaged my audience. Without both of their motivation and push I would not have succeeded the way I did and my audition would have been a lot bigger and scarier, when in reality it wasn’t. The biggest help for me, I believe was the mock auditions. With constan t practices that mimicked the actual audition, this prepared me both mentally and physically for what the actual procedure would be like. I practiced entering the room as well as greeting the judges, something I hadn’t thought of prior. Interacting with the judges seemed a lot less nerve racking with the use of practice questions and how to answer them in a polite and engaging way. As we continued to practice, my nerves subsided. It became routine and over prepared me for the actual audition. Without Robert and Michelle’s aid I would not have been able to overcome some of my personal anxieties as well as succeed the way I did. Their constant motivation and cheer helped my nerves and allowed me to completely relax yet stay focused when practicing. I wouldn’t have the confidence I have today without their help aiding me in my vocal presentation and interaction with school officials/judges. Any student would be extremely lucky to have Michelle and Robert prepare them for college. With their tough work ethic and constant motivation, success surely follows.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about SingITforte/Robert and Michelle. My daughter had previously been enrolled in private voice lessons 3 different times at 3 places. I was dissatisfied because while she was getting practice she wasn’t learning and growing as a vocalist. My daughter and her friends are constantly singing and involved in musicals. While at a performance I noticed a dramatic difference in their vocal performance. Michelle is so talented! She’s very knowledgeable mixing a little bit of technique, music theory, and vocal tips into one awesome lesson. She is encouraging and also quick to assess and give helpful feedback. I have already learned quite a bit and definitely want to continue additional classes with her.

Michelle Kei is a TREMENDOUS teacher! My wife found the perfect voice studio to help our daughter take it to the next level. Michelle's background/training is so impressive, and her instruction is CHALLENGING and FUN at the same time. Very frequent communication, which is great for all. We had our second studio recital last week-end. Personally, I can hear and feel the difference in my singing from a year ago. I felt more ready and confident, and it is entirely due to the excellent instruction, coaching and encouragement that I have received from Michelle and her husband Robert over this last year. Their lessons are fun, educational, energizing and uplifting. They are both excellent teachers- and have this most incredible way of explaining things so that I grow as a performer. No need to feel like you aren't good enough, and on the flip side, even the most accomplished vocalists will grow and develop. I feel so lucky to have found them- they were exactly what the doctor ordered for me to find my new mature voice.

Last week in downtown Chicago, my daughter made it to an advanced round in a National-Level singing competition! This was an INCREDIBLE and PRICELESS EXPERIENCE for my daughter. I found Michelle and Robert on the internet, looking for a local voice instructor for my kids (ages 15 and 10). My kids were willing to give them a try and started in May 2019. Per the kids: Michelle and Robert are so kind, supportive, and have high energy; they are never bored. Mind you, going in, these kids were scared of voice lessons - they were very concerned about "opera" (or what they thought opera was). Both kids now look forward to lessons: it's fun, they get to express themselves, and they really appreciate the learning environment created by Michelle and Robert. They even learned a couple of Italian art songs. I can see their CONFIDENCE in performing/singing get stronger and more secure. I have had 8 lessons with Michelle and/or husband Robert- and they are amazing! I am 53 years old and never took a voice lesson in my life, although I have been a singer since high school. I had a beautiful soprano voice back in the day, but it was never developed because I was a band kid. I needed to find teachers who could help me rehabilitate my voice. They are teaching me a whole different way of singing because I have been doing a lot wrong for many years. They are teaching an old dog new tricks. I have just begun taking singing lessons with Michelle, and I have to say she is a wonderful teacher. I've taken a few lessons with Michelle now and I am very happy with my experience! Michelle is great at customizing her lesson to her student. I actually tried a few different teachers in the area before finding Michelle and no one seemed to "get" what I was looking for. With Michelle I feel challenged at an appropriate pace and am able to focus on the important details. Michelle has lots to offer and even in just a short time has helped me to improve immensely! I started working with Michelle and Robert in mid-March. I clicked with them right away. Knowing that we only had about a month and a half before my audition date, we worked very diligently. They did a great job customizing my lessons to really prepare me for my audition. I had a couple of songs picked out and we began ironing out the details right away. I was not only accepted into the program, but also offered a generous scholarship. Quickly after my audition we began working on new, more challenging pieces. I am so excited about my voice lessons. I am a university trained classical singer with extensive operatic and art song experience who wanted to get back to singing after a long absence. I was looking for a teacher that could help me to navigate the changes in my voice due to the aging process and provide me with the tools to steady a vibrato that had gotten out of hand. Michelle and Robert are exactly what I needed. They have extensive and commanding knowledge of the voice and support mechanism and teach from the Italian “Bel Canto School” perspective. That is to say pure vowels, open throated but focused sound and a healthy, low laryngeal position. I am loving my voice again and it has only been 3 lessons. They are exceptional at finding the beauty in the individual voice and not requiring a “carbon copy” sound. One of the best things about my lessons is that they complement each other as teachers and find a number of ways to facilitate a natural and beautiful sound by articulating suggestions in many and varied ways. If the student is unable to reproduce the desired outcome by one method, they will find another way to achieve it. Not one minute of a lesson is wasted and each week brings quick and substantial progress. It has been a joy to work with them and I look forward to each lesson and the progress they bring.
