About Katherine
Teacher with 10 yrs experience in Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grades. Additional training in Orton Gillingham, Fountas and Pinnell and Diagnostic Reading.
I knew I wanted to make a diffence and enjoy working with kids. I found my passion through teaching.

My first step in working with a new student is to establish trust and a connection with them. I then determine what areas they are struggling in by speaking with the parent and the student. I need to gether as much evidence as possible to best help each student in their areas of need.
I have worked with students with ADD, ADHD, IEP's and 504 plans that are within a gen ed setting.
I would tell a student to make sure they connect with and like their tutor. They will work better and will find it a little easier to work with someone they like.
The end of the 2021-2022 school year, I experienced many parents and students asking me to loop, or move up to the next grade level just so their student would have me for another year. It was heartwarming to know I made a difference in someone's life.
