About Brittane

When I was in college I assisted several students in my dorm with their papers. Proofreading and sentence structure was a problem for many. I helped them with better sentences and expand on their vocabulary so they would receive high marks on their papers. I am currently working on my MBA. During my semester doing group projects, I have noticed that fellow classmate's sentence structure and grammar are not up to par. My fellow classmates would type how they speak. I just started tutoring and wanted to help others with sentence structure, grammar, proofreading, and building strong papers/essays. I am used to MLA format and currently working on APA format. My goal is to help as many students young or old become better with their writing skills. If an individual can write better then they can talk better.

I am not an official teacher. I started tutoring this year. I wanted to help others who want to become better writers and work on their grammar. I firmly believe that if someone becomes a better writer they think and speak better.

During college I have tutored several students in my dormitory with writing. I have proofread papers and helped with sentence structure. In college some professors like lengthy papers I helped others provide more details and longer sentences to achieve what their professor wanted. While working on my MBA I have done group projects and have helped others with proofreading.

About the lesson

I will request past writing samples such as essays, short essays, paragraphs, or emails to assess how the student writes. I will ask the student what areas they feel need improvement. Form a lesson plan and schedule lessons based off of both schedules. If a student cannot meet for a lesson then we will reschedule.

I have worked with students of all ages. Ages ranging from nineteen to thirty.

I would suggest the student looks at the reviews for the teacher. Inquire if the individual is a good fit for the students needs. If the teacher can teach how the student learns.

A recent group project I worked on in my last class. Before submitting the assignment I went over each part with a fine tooth comb and made several corrections. If I had not gone over the project one final time the grade would have been less than expected.

Details

The first three lessons are trial period lessons for both tutor and student. The first three lessons are to see if I can help the student and the student feels I am a good fit for them. After the fourth lesson I charged $15 a lesson.
