About Craig
Creative Light is a new workshop collaboration between photographers Craig McCord and Jane Palmer. With over 50 years of photographic experience, we have joined forces to bring a new dimension to the photography workshop experience. Together, we have created a workshop model that goes far beyond just getting you to beautiful landscapes. Our goal at Creative Light is centered around exploring your creative vision and teaching you the tools and techniques you need to capture images that tell your story.

Have been involved in photography for over 30yrs and gain much pleasure from sharing my knowledge with others and helping them grow both technically and creatively as they pursue their photographic goals. Instruction is both class based and in-field experience, based on the needs of the individual or group.

First discuss what student's short and long term objectives. Get an assessment as to their equipment and then develop what I believe would be a appropriate course or instruction strategy to achieve those objectives. In most cases this will involve both classroom and field instruction

Perfect! Craig is really easy to work with and full of knowledge. I am an amateur, but he has a great way of not letting me think I am an amateur. He remembers what it was like when he first learned and realized he is still learning new things as well

I've attended multiple photography workshops led by Craig and continue to learn more each time. Craig is patient and knows his stuff. When I first met Craig I was mostly shooting in auto. All it took was one workshop with Craig to get me to make the switch to shooting in manual and I haven't looked back since! He has helped me train my eye to see landscapes differently and I feel more confident in my photography. I owe all of my post processing knowledge to Craig and that has really been a game changer in my photos!
Great teacher of techniques and composition
Craig is an easy going guy, and I felt comfortable being around him. He has put in a lot of time finding locations for his students to photograph and it is obvious. He sincerely wants his students to have fun, get great photos and enjoy the workshop. He has great organizational skills and knows when and how to get students moving to other locations as well as keeping them motivated. He is extremely knowledgable about photography but never talks down to students. Craig can assist beginning photographers but also advanced photographers. I highly recommend Craig for learning photography, Lightroom, and PhotoShop. I thoroughly enjoyed taking the workshop and most definitely will take more.
