About Melanie
I have been teaching crochet, sewing, and other crafts like resin jewelry and art for more than 20 years. I love to create things, but more than that, I love to help people learn how to create things for themselves.
Followed in my mamas footsteps! I used to own a small craft supply and consignment store, and we taught classes there for kids and adults. I love to teach, and when combined with crafting, it doesn't get any better than that!
My mom was a home economics teacher and taught me everything I know! I've been crafting for 30+ years and I've turned my passion into a job. Additionally, I was the Education Coordinator at Joann Fabrics and Crafts where I was in charge of all the classes each month, but personally taught sewing, crochet, some painting and more!

The first session is typically all about the basics. What materials are needed, how to get started with them, and skills to work on. Then going forward we build on those skills towards a specific goal of something they want to make.
All types! I've worked with kids as young as 5, and adults in their 80's! I've worked with folks who struggle with various disabilities, hardships, barriers, and more. Where there is a will, there is a way!
Ask a lot of questions! Before, during and after. Never be afraid to ask questions... it's the best way to learn!
I love doing craft shows! The ability to not only show off what I've made (and sell them!), but to see and meet and talk to so many people about their love for the craft as well.
