About Robyn

I run businesses that help people succeed.

At (concealed information) I help job hunters start or upgrade their careers with resumes, cover letters, portfolio and website reviews, and counseling about the job search process and interview success, especially in the entertainment industry. My books are available for Kindle at (concealed information)

(concealed information) is my creativity support site, with inspiration and practical tips to help you (re)discover your inherent creativity and bring more beauty into your life. I share my own arts and maker practice - as a textile artist, papercrafter, and writer.

I first taught theater technology - that is backstage work - to acting students at one of the premier acting schools in Sydney, the Ensemble Studios. It was a mandatory class that covered everything from understanding microphones and lighting to stage management, props and scenic painting.

I was also a Spotted Canary certified scrapbooking teacher at Michaels Arts and Crafts stores.

I have 40 years of experience as a professional in theater and film, including working as a department head in independent feature film productions. I hold a Bachelor of Creative Arts with Honors in Theater Design and Technology.

I am also a published writer, having been a columnist for an international lifestyle magazine, Natural Life, amongst other publications. I recently completed the authorized biography of the late Oscar (r) winning actor, James Coburn, which is currently being shopped to agents.

Currently I serve as a one-on-one volunteer providing resume, cover letter, online job applications, and interview practice services for Chrysalis, Santa Monica - a 501k non-profit with the mission of helping homeless and low income people find good jobs.

For resume work, prospective clients send me a copy of their current resume. I give them three notes for immediate improvement for free. If these make sense and they wish to proceed, I send an invoice via PayPal for a non-refundable deposit of half the full fee for whichever service they need.

Upon receipt of  payment, I forward my new client survey, and we go forward from there. Typically I create 3-4 resumes and at least one cover letter draft, ready for customizing. I typically analyze about 3 job listings and share that process to help clients learn how to do that for themselves.

Clients receive a customized report about their resume and job search, including a series of action steps. I also encourage folks to read at my blog for ongoing information and tips.

Adults of all experience levels, and college age students. I also assist people with their college application CV's and offer critiques of S.O.P for grad school applications.

Details

My current prices are explained in detail on my website, but the price for my most popular service, the Done-For-You Resume and Cover Letter package, is $310 - half paid up front as a non-refundable deposit, and the second half payable when you find work.

However, I also have a series of workshop presentations (from 2 hours for a single class to a day-long program that includes interview practice), that would work best for a group class. My rates vary depending on the number of participants, including minumums. Please contact me for details.
