About David
Thank you for considering music classes with our online school! We founded Keyboard for Kids & More! over 20 years ago, realizing that music education is vital to the development and education of children. The study of music, particularly piano or keyboard, nourishes the mind, heart, and spirit, and creates pathways in the brain that lead to better reading comprehension, linguistic skills, math, and more!
At Keyboard for Kids & More!, our philosophy is to instill a love of learning music first and foremost, and then as students progress, more challenging programs can be offered without pushing a student beyond their enjoyment of learning. Although we recognize that parents play a pivotal role in carrying out this philosophy, we believe that our teachers can set the initial stage to inspire students to do their very best. Thank you also to the parents, friends, and families of our students who support them in their musical endeavors!
It is wonderful to provide classes to students of all ages and to watch them grow and learn skills they never thought were possible. I have been studying and performing music since childhood and I enjoy passing along these skills to the next generation.
David Michael Bilowus holds a Master’s degree in piano performance and Bachelors of Fine Arts degrees in voice and piano from the State University of New York in Buffalo, where he also taught piano. He studied piano and pedagogy with Livingston Gearhart and Carlo Pinto. He has also studied at the Eastman School of Music, the Chautauqua Music Institute, the University of Southern California, and at the University of North Texas.
