About Sierra
I am a very passionate 2nd grade teacher. While teachers try their best to reach the individual needs of each child, many students need additional support outside of school. That is where I come in! What I love is being able to grow a childs confidence and let them see their true potiential. I have been teaching for 2 years, but I am very comfortable when it comes to elementary math. It is all about making the lessons engaging and seeing what type of learner your child is.
One of the reasons I became a teacher is to contribute to the community in a meaningful way. Teaching is one of the most direct ways to make an impact. Being a teacher is an invaluable contribution.
I have an Elementary Education degree from East Carolina University. Currently, I am in my 2nd year of teaching at Bunn Elementary School.

When meeting a new student, I like to create some rapport. This allows me to get to know them and for them to feel comfortable with me. Once that has been established, I begin to see where they are struggling and see how I can best support them.
I have worked with a large varitey of students. Anywhere from children who have been identified as EC all the way to "gifted" students. No matter what level they are, I go above and behind to create lessons that will support them the most.
