About Janis
I personally create a curriculum to match what a student needs and am genuine and kind when teaching new concepts. I incorporate the tricks and tips I used when I learned certain topics to be able to help students learn them easily as well. I have tutored students in the past and have had job offers at tutoring centers.
I love working with kids; I have volunteered in multiple summer camps and love what I do. Tutoring is another way for me to help out and work with kids and help them feel more confident in their skills. Working at the student's pace is the most important to me so they never feel left behind but they are able to master new topics and move on to more advanced topics.
Some parents reached out to me in my local church to tutor their kids and from there I was able to gain experience. I love what I do!
I have been hired in tutoring centers and also have experience in tutoring for math and English. I am attending Cornell University for Mechanical Engineering this coming fall and attend a University Scholars Program for high school.

First of all, I would see what classes the student is in or going to be enrolling in. From there, I would provide some sort of diagnostic test to see what skills they are proficient in and what skills they are lacking in and communicate with the parent to see what they would also like the student to focus on. After all of that, I would create a curriculum tailored for the student weekly to help them master concepts and build on them so they are able to feel confident in their skill set.
