About Kelsey
My service is built on years of experience working one-on-one and in groups with students. I am a creative problem solver and love applying this skill in the education setting. I am a guide to help students not only increase understanding, but build self-esteem and establish tools they can use for success into the future.
Every student I’ve worked with is brilliant. It’s so exciting to see their potential and help them unlock it. The thing I love the most about my job is being able to help kids succeed despite the challenges they may have and in turn help them rediscover their love for learning. I love seeing them overcome obstacles and discouragement as they realize their ability to learn and master new concepts. Their excitement is contagious and motivates me to do all I can to help them have more of those confidence-building moments.
I have over five years of experience as a private tutor. I also worked in public schools in Salt Lake City and Provo leading after-school groups as well as teaching resource and special education classes. My college studies have been focused on child development, psychology, and learning disorders with a focus on ADHD. I’m currently studying to become a certified ADHD Life Coach.

I offer a free consultation where I meet in person with the student and parents to discuss desired outcomes of the tutoring. We talk about scheduling, primary concerns, as well as the student’s goals and interests so I can plan activities to make learning personalized and exciting for that individual student. If possible, I like to meet with the teacher as well to discuss school performance and coordinate our efforts.
I have worked with a variety of students ranging from grades K-6. I’ve tutored students who just need a little support to build their confidence and understanding as well as students that struggle with learning disabilities and language barriers. Many of my students have struggled with ADHD, Anxiety, memory issues, Autism, Dyslexia, and other learning and reading disorders. Whatever their challenges may be, my students have found success and enjoyment in school.

Perfect! Kelsey is unique in her ability to not only foster better math comprehension, but to foster amazing rapport with kids and help them to believe in themselves. I am grateful for her influence on both of my children as she makes learning fun and inspires them to be their best selves.

I was so grateful Kelsey had a creative playful approach with my 6 year old. She was flexible and easy to work with. My daughter was beyond excited every time she got to go to Kelsey’s. She got the one on one attention and playful approach that every 6 year old needs.
Kelsey worked so well with my son. He has ADHD and a bit of a stubborn streak when he feels he knows best. She was able to keep things light and positive so that he could open his mind and be receptive to her teaching. She was fun and kind and he wanted to please her. She was able explore teaching in different ways until she found the approach that fit his personality and learning style best. She saved my relationship with my son as well as his math grade!
Kelsey was also able to work with him on general study habits and techniques. He was getting buried with homework and feeling increasingly overwhelmed and discouraged. She understands the challenges of ADHD well and was able to work with him where he is instead of push him to organize and work in a neurotypical way. She helped him come up with ways to motivate himself that he could connect to and suggested an app to keep him on track and other ADHD specific tools to help him. Now he's excited for school.Kelsey worked so well with my son. He has ADHD and a bit of a stubborn streak when he feels he knows best.
