About Jared
Working with students to get them to their "ah-ha" moment is my passion. If that means working through different examples, using illustrations, or some other method to get to where they need to be then I am game for that. I've worked at Heritage Elementary School - Glendale and ASU Preparatory Academy - South Phoenix as a long-term substitute teacher from 7th-8th grade math and as a personal and group tutor.
I know that everybody learns differently and my favorite part about teaching is always finding that one tool or method that works for a student. My hope is that finding that method that works will help a student not only understand the subject but enjoy learning about it.
I started teaching as an 8th-grade math teacher's assistant in 2019 and about 9 months later I was asked to be a long-term substitute for our 7th-grade math classroom. This was in the midst of the pandemic and online/hybrid teaching. I had students in person as well as students online. Since then I have been a long-term substitute for 7th and 8th-grade math and a tutor.

I've worked with all sorts of students from all demographics as a result of the diversity at the school I worked at. I have more recently worked specifically with ESL students (primarily Spanish to English) to provide support in math and supplemental assistance in English.
