About Courtney
Hello, my name is Courtney and I am a Math tutor of all ages. I was a Math major at The College of New Jersey and graduated with my master's degree. I am currently an 8th grade Middle School Math teacher and have tutored kids from elementary to high school levels.
I have always had a passion for teaching. Tutoring opportunities gives me the chance to work one-on-one with students and see first-hand how much they grow. It is truly a rewarding experience watching a student learn to love the subject and become stronger in math skills.

For the first few sessions, I like to learn more about the student: what are their strengths, weaknesses, how they feel about math, what topics he or she is learning about at school, etc. After working with them a couple of times, I like to bring different modes of learning to our sessions to get the student interested in the subject. For example, internet resources and games such as IXL and quizizz. I bring worksheets, task cards, and other fun and engaging hands-on learning for the students.
