About Jiannan
I am an research scientist who is knowledgeable in math and physics. I am good at leading students to grasp concepts and motivating them to learn.
I enjoy to see the students become self-motivated learners
I started teaching when I got my teaching job position in a University.
I have experience of higher-education teaching and instructing graduate students over 20 years. I also tutor my daughter for her math.

I willfirst contact the student and/or his/her parents to know the student, the apects that the student needs to improve. Then I will design a strategy that will work to help the student to improve and to gain confidence. Most importantly, I will start to think which methods I should use to stimulate the student to become a self-learner.
College and graduate students
It is beeter that the student has tried the problem and then seeks help from a tutor. He or she also needs to review and practice after tutroing classes. The best way to learn is to learn by doing. In general, the best benefits the student can get from the turtor is to get prepared before meeting the tutor.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The students should think if they understand the concepts and the principles of the subject they are learning. And think about questions they should ask the tutor that will help them to understand these concepts and principles.
