I will first start with a 15~30 minute intro session where I will get to know the student, what subjects they are struggling with, and ask them their preferences for how they want to learn. Then at the next session, I will begin teaching or helping with subject comprehension.
Find someone you are comfortable talking with. It should be easy for you to ask your teacher/tutor questions without feeling intimidated.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What subjects/topics do you strugle with? How do you want to learn practice problems, review of topics, both? If these questions are difficult to answer, ask to try multiple methods and see what works best for you.
