About LeeAnn
Hello! My name is LeeAnn MacDonald and I have a Masters in Science Education, Bachlors in Biology and Psychology and a minor in religion. I am a teacher at Thales Academy, and have been there for four years. I teach Biology to 10th graders and Life Science to 7th graders. I also have a CNA background where I worked in a hospital for 5 years.
I would love to help you study for a Science assesment or work on homework. I am also happy to help in religion, psychology, algebra I and holocaust and genocide. I also enjoy helping with orgnization and study skills, as theses are essential for all classes.

I started out tutoring in highschool and then went on to work with behavioral health students within a hospital setting. This position had me working 13 hours days and I realized that education was for me, just in a school setting. I know am a grad student at NCSU pursing a masters in education. I also have a brother who is 6 years younger than me and have helped him with homework, study skills and organization since he was little.
I have been tutoring since I was in highschool (2013) within my honors society and have continued to tutor throughout college and now grad school. Tutoring is something I enjoy and love helping individuals with subjects they are struglling with.

When working with a new student I will first get to know them asking what it is they need to work on and what they struggle with. Then will ask them what they want to go over and how I can best help them with their tutoring session. I like to get to know them before helping them so I know what works best (how I teach, etc.)
I have worked with students whom have down syndrome, ADHD and students who just struggle with a certain subject. I love helping in anyway that I can. Just let me know how I can do so :)
Look for a teacher who understands the subject that you need help in. Also look for a teacher who can motivate you to want to learn and not just do all the work for you.
Love my students whom I work with tutoring, one of my student just moved to London due to his Dads job. He just sent me a thank you letter this week and it made my heart so happy. I love working with students and helping them suceed, hence why I am in grad school to teach. I will however continue tutoring while I am a teacher as well.
