About Lucas
Some people really struggle with math which is why I'm patient and help your student through the process. I graduated high school with A's in all my math classes and I have a year of experience tutoring kids from my school. My passion for math will shine through when I am teaching your student.
I love helping people understand mathematical concepts in whatever way makes most sense to them. It is so satisfying when a problem finally clicks for a student.
I am passionate about math and have only received A's in my math classes. My senior year I took "Teacher's Assistant" as an elective for an Algerbra II teacher. In this class I often walked around the room and tutored kids who needed help. It taught me the most effective way to help students learn math.

First I ask them a few questions to assess what they are understanding so far. I want to make sure that I am teaching a new student at THEIR level. Then I try to explain the mathematical concepts in the way that makes the most sense for them. From there we will do a few problems together and then I have them try it on their own.
I have worked with Algerbra II students at varying levels of mathematical knowledge. Some kids picked up the concept as soon as I explained it while others had much more trouble. The wide scope of mathematical competencies showed me how to approach students at different levels.
Make sure you hire someone who is patient, willing to help you understand, and can communicate with you effectively.
