About Katie
I always loved math in school growing up, but as I got older, I realized that I loved helping other people learn to love math even more. I graduated from Duke University as a math major with a minor in secondary education. After college, I taught high school math (algebra, geometry, pre-calculus and AP Statistics) for five years. During that time, I tutored also high school students in all math subjects, including ACT and SAT math, and undergraduate students in Stat 101 courses. More recently, I earned my masters degree in analytics and am working as a data scientist. I miss working with students, helping them gain confidence in their math abilities, and even learning to love math. I am skilled at breaking down and explaining difficult concepts. I am encouraging and supportive and meet students where they are and help them grow!
