Math is a language. It is not understood by memorizing piecemeal algorithms, but rather by learning to read, speak, and write the language of Math.
I intentionally became a professional math teacher because this is what I love to do.

I work by customizing the student's needs and intertwining those needs into my own unique ways of explaining math. I believe that it is most beneficial to treat math as a language to learn. Every problem really tells a story, and a strong math student knows how to explain back the problem and their solution.
I have worked with virtually all types of students, from graduate math students down to grade school, every level.
Choose somebody who feels natural with you. Feeling comfortable is essential to a succesfully working tutor/student relationship.
Have as many specific problems ready to work on. Try to get good at forming specific questions about these problems.
I'm fond of baseball, music, and my family. I have two children.
