About Allison
Hi, I'm Allison! I'm a full-time data scientist, and I have 2 years of experience tutoring math and SAT/ACT prep in a 1-on-1 setting with students ranging from grades 2 to 12. I specialize in SAT/ACT prep, algebra, geometry, and elementary/middle school math.
I started teaching at a private tutoring center while I was in college. In this role, I taught math, science, reading, and english to students ranging from elementary to high school. During this time, I gained exposure to professionally-developed curriculum, practice questions covering a wide variety of topics, and mentorship from more experienced educators. I am looking to apply what I have learned to helping even more students accomplish their academic and college admission goals.
I have scores in the top 1% for both the SAT and ACT. I believe that good test scores come from dedicated, long-term preparation and a foundational understanding of reading, english, and math topics. I prioritize my students' conceptual understanding over correct answers to ensure that they are prepared to respond to a diverse range of problems.
I am available for online sessions most weekday evenings (after 4 PM CST) and all day weekends. Please reach out to ask questions or schedule a session!
Cancellation policy: Lessons must be cancelled at least 12 hours prior to the lesson start time to avoid a cancellation fee. Lessons cancelled within 12 hours will be charged a $20 cancellation fee, and no-shows or cancellations after the lesson start time will be charged the full amount of the lesson price.
