About Joan
I am an elementary teacher with 20 years of experience teaching 7-9 year olds in public schools and and tutor for students 6 -12 years of age. My strengths are Reading and Writing instruction, language acquisition. I will tutor elementary math through 6th grade.(I assess the strengths of my students and target their needs for optimal goals.) I currently meet privately on Zoom or Google Meets. Parents are kept in the loop of weekly progress. I am hands on at night checking to see that homework is finished, providing positive feedback to move students forward. Key to my success is individual targeting of next steps in instruction.
