About Ross
My job is to make history a fun subject, so that it is something that the student wants to learn. This in turn makes it easier to understand the subject, and easier to study and perform better on exams.
I was a sports coach, and one of my team captains said that the team decided that I would be a great teacher. I listened!
I have been passionate about history my whole life. I studied history in college, and today I am a high school history teacher and tutor.

In the first session, we talk a lot about history in general, so that I can figure out what it is about the subject that the student likes. This enables me to figure out a personalized way to tutor the student in the subject.
Be prepared to discuss with your prospective tutor exactly what you like, and what you don't like about the subject.

Ross Abelow is the best tutor anyone could ask for. Not only is he extreme bright, but he’s personable and easy for kids to work with. He helped both of my sons get A’s in their AP history classes, one in Global and one in US history. Ross always conducted his sessions in a timely manner and was able to explain the concepts in a way that is easy to understand, not withstanding these are AP classes. I would highly recommend him for any history tutoring needs.
