I have been with learning with Dr. Jimmy Moore for about 6 years at this point and I cannot express how grateful I am for those years. Jimmy was the most significant impact on my musical career, and the best teacher I've ever had the pleasure of studying under. I had just entered high school and I had a few years of self-taught guitar lessons under my belt when I took an interest to guitar lessons, and the way Jimmy taught guitar energized my passions for music, for life, and art. To imply his lessons were life-changing is an understatement.

He encompasses the instrument not only as a tool with which one can create, but also a strict discipline to be appreciated and respected. Jimmy helped me refine my ability to read music and understand theory, which in turn helped my skill level rise.

Another thing that separates Jimmy from other teachers is that he grows with his students and cares about their well-being. As somebody who suffers from social anxiety and depression, knowing somebody cared made a big difference to me. We began and ended every lesson with smiles. I was lucky to have him for 90 minutes a day several times a week, and I am thankful that even today, I am able to call him a mentor and great friend.

My lessons with Jimmy continued for over four years, until a little after I graduated high school. I am now about to graduate from college, and I can say that after a few years of seeing Jimmy a couple times a week, I carry with me musical skills and knowledge that have afforded me the opportunity to secure performances i'd never dream of, such as weddings and local events.

Dr. Moore is a fantastic guitar teacher! He is able to customize, with accuracy, his instruction based on the student's abilities, needs and goals.
