About Mike

Helping beginner and intermediate players to swing more consistently based on their athletic/physical abilities (rather than copying a tour pro) and score better if they are committed to regular practice.

Golf has been a passion for my entire life and I enjoy sharing with others who feel the same.

#1 player on the varsity golf team at Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, IL.  Played in the IHSA Class 1A State Final Tournament as a senior in 1975.

Learned to play golf at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, IL.  The north course has had many professional tour events including the US Open in 2003.

Won the junior member championship and took second in the associate member championship at the Olympia Fields Country Club in 1975 and 1976, respectively.

Won and placed in local junior tournaments from 1972 to 1975.

Played on the golf team at Wake Forest University and the University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign from 1976 to 1978.  Taught golf lessons to others while in school.

Taught Chinese Executives in Beijing, China how to improve their games from 2005 to 2016.  Was able to help one student reduce his handicap from 54 to 21 in less than 2 years.

Continue to learn more about golf from the best tour players and the latest technology to better understand and improve the game for me and others.

Improve putting first.  ~1/2 of one's total score is with the putter.

Improve the short game.  Chipping and pitching the ball closer to the hole around the greens cuts the number of putts in the score.

Improving the accuracy of the long game first; hitting longer shots second.

How to manage one's game on the actual course.

Using the latest technologies such as video, audio, launch monitors, and software to fully understand the students’ game.  Provide the data in a comprehensive summary after each lesson.
