About Daria
Hi there! My name is Daria and I am a recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. My degree is in both communication and theatre arts, which means I've writen a lot of papers.
I have great attention to detail and creative ideas that will help me help you edit/proofread whatever paper, essay, application, short story, or even play you're working on for a negotiable price!
I absolutely love giving writing feedback so I would love to work with you. Here's some of my writing highlights and a link to my LinkedIn profile for more info:
-"Somewhere in Between" by Daria M. Sullivan - my one-act play was produced at the University of Pittsburgh by my professor, a professional Pittsburgh author (Kathleen George).
-My application (writing/essay component) for the Vira I. Heinz Women in Global Leadership Program earned me a spot in the prestigious program.
-Rigorous writing classes I've taken have included Rhetorical Criticism, Playwriting, Creative Writing, and Fiction Writing.
(concealed information)
If it sounds like we'd be a great fit, send me a message & let's get started! Looking forward to working with you soon(:
Much love and many positive vibes,
Daria
I love that through editing, I can help people see their writing in a different way than they did before.
I've tutored writing students when I was in high school and I've now become the go-to editor for friends and family when it comes to papers, essays, e-mail correspondence, etc. I've even helped my Ghanaian friend edit his plays. All of this has inspired me to teach.
-Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Theatre Arts
-Original minor in creative writing

I'd like to have a conversation about what writing material you're working on (essay? play? etc.) and your goals for our session (i.e. edit/proofread what you have).
Middle school, high school, and college (undergrad).
Pay attention to how the teacher presents themselves in their profile. The more put together they are on this website (additional links, plethora of bio info, etc.), the more I'd trust their abilities in-person. Effort shows they care and want to help you.
I recently particpated in an event called "Seasonal Shorts with JC Fridays" hosted by Jersey City's Speranza Theatre Company. New skits, written by professional writers, were presented throughout the night. I loved this because it provided a lowkey, fun opportunity for writers to present their material and see how audience members respond to their work. Feedback is SO important for writers!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think it's most important to think through what you hope to gain from your session with a teacher and your strengths/weaknesses. If there's something in particular you'd like to work on, it's probably a good idea to mention it. This way, your teacher can keep that in mind when viewing your work.
