Right from the beginning, the process was all very organized. Kevin took a diagnostic test that Charlie used to target certain aspects of the SAT. My son was better at math than English at the start, so Charlie worked through many practice tests with Kevin to show him the different types of questions and how best to answer them. I don't usually write reviews but SoFlo's work was truly outstanding. My family has worked with other tutoring companies before, but this one has been the best by far. The price was reasonable and my daughter loved working with her tutor Matthew. Matthew kept me updated on how she was doing and what they were focusing on in their tutoring sessions. I found SoFlo SAT Tutoring online and they left a strong impression. I had searched and spoken with many test prep companies but they were the best. They answered all my messages and responded to my calls very promptly. Also there were no contracts so I gave them a shot even though I had not heard of the company before. The founder Adam was knowledgeable about SAT prep and friendly on our initial phone call and getting started was easy, just filling out a simple form. They had my son Greg take a diagnostic test to gauge his initial strengths and weaknesses. From the diagnostic we had a very strategic approach to prep and there were clear goals and directions. From there a polite young tutor reached out and began scheduling test prep sessions. My son is always very busy because he is on the soccer team, but our tutor Charlie was very flexible and scheduled sessions at my son's convenience. We met with Charlie once a week for two hours over the course of about 3 months. I was able to track my son's progress because he was always doing SAT practice tests for homework. His score was steadily climbing from week to week, and we were confident that he was going to improve his SAT score. After taking the SAT we decided to pause sessions thinking that we should wait until we see how Greg did on his test. Adam completely understood and did not pressure us to continue sessions. True experts! SoFlo knows the SAT incredibly well and was able to pass on lessons and tricks to my son who improved 310 points on his SAT from a 1240 to a 1550 over the course of 4 months. SoFlo gave my son a ton of curriculum. He needed a set structure and study plan to succeed, otherwise it would be hard to keep him focused. Every week he was studying from real SAT past exams, a free video course, and plenty of 1-on-1 tutoring to give him the skills to break 1500. My son is very bright but not confident, and his tutor Brian worked with him to gain confidence and have the right mindset for success.
