About Hil
At HJK Learning, I believe every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and individualized instruction. Founded by a licensed special education teacher, HJK Learning provides personalized tutoring designed to build academic skills, confidence, and independence.
With 10 years of experience working with elementary and middle school students in both general and special education settings, I specialize in meeting learners where they are. My background includes supporting students with ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, behavioral needs, and academic skill gaps in reading and math.
What I love most about tutoring is seeing students discover that they can do hard things. Watching confidence replace frustration is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
What sets HJK Learning apart is a relationship-first approach. Every lesson is tailored to the individual student—not a one-size-fits-all program. I use evidence-based teaching strategies, positive behavior supports, and hands-on learning to help students make meaningful progress while feeling supported every step of the way.
