About Joan
I have been a NYC teacher for 20 plus years. My favorite part of my job is teaching reading. I super enjoy seeing children break the code and become amazing readers. Reading is a doorway to so many wonderful adventures. When you find a great book, it can take you to great places. You can become detectives and solve mysteries, become astronauts or dancers, the sky is the limit.
I take pride in seeing the progress and growth in my students. Watching new readers develop into strong confident readers is so rewarding to me.
I have my Masters in Elementary Education. I have been a K-3 teacher in NYC for 20 years.
