About Maci
I am a junior in college currently studying to get my bachelor of science in Elementary Education. I have been passionate about teaching since I was a young girl and have years of experience in the teaching industry. I love to educate others and share the importance of education and help others learn something new everyday. I will help my students understand the English language and help develop a deeper knowledge of reading and writing. I have been a camp counselor for 5 years and have helped to educate students ranging from 4-15 years old for many years. I have one more year of school at the University of Tampa where I will graduate with my bachelors degree in elementary education along with receiving my ESOL certification. I will then further my academic career by earning my masters degree in education. My goal is to help students learn to their best ability during a challenging time and share my academic knowledge in reading and writing so students can push through the struggle that students are having in the academic world right now. Come learn with me!!!
I have always had a passion in educating young kids because I have always felt education is the main reason for any job that we have in today's world. I have always passionate in learning and seeing the importance of education so what I enjoy the most is learning something new everyday even as a teacher. My favorite part of what I do is not only teaching students and helping others learn something new but also learning something from my students. As a teacher, you are learning something new from your students everyday just as much as students are learning from you. Learning helps anyone grow individually and for me, that is the most important part of education.
Teaching as always been something that has interested me because of my wonderful experiences that I have had with teachers during my school years. Many of my teachers inspired me to educate others the way they educated me. So, as a result, once I started college, my love for teaching grew, from all the experience I was getting from assisting classes ranging from k-5. I developed connections with all the students I tutored and assisted and this acted as another reason that my love for teaching grew. Once I started education classes and my natural understanding for each class grew and I was able to easily connect to every topic I learned, I knew it was something that I am passionate in.
I am currently studying at the University of Tampa to earn my degree in elementary education. I am aiming to earn my masters degree once I graduate which then I will be ESOL certified, in which I have been training for for the past 3 years. I have experience as a student teacher assistant throughout my years at the University of tampa and during the summers in which I am not a full time student, I spend my summers working as a camp counselor along with babysitting.

My typical process for working with new students is getting to know eachother first. I like to connect to any student that I work with so they are able to know me as a person before they know me as an educator. Connecting with the students is the first step into allowing a transcendent teacher - learner relationship. Once I feel as though, my students know me, I will then start to assess what they struggle with and/ or need more help in. Once I have an aim in what my students need extra help in, I then have a focus area in what I need to be teaching. As I get to know my students more, I will accommodate their learning needs and figure out ways that I feel each and every one of my student learns best with and use that as my teaching style for the areas that they struggle with.

During this unusual time, I am struggling to make money due to the fact that job opportunities are limited along with the possible cancellation of my summer camp that I have worked at for the past 5 years. Due to this, I will need a steady hourly income to help me support my college career along with basic necessities. I will charge $25 an hour.
