About Caitlynn

I am a college student who has been taking college level english since my junior year of high school. I have taken AP English Language, Ap Literature and Composition, and Creative writing. I passed my AP exams with a 5. I got a 680/800 on my SAT as well. I help my brother (12) and sister (15) with English all the time. In high school, my English teachers would use me to help grade and/or assist my fellow students. I graduated top of 5% of class of 840. I received a Golden State Merit Diploma which means I mastered six or more subjects in school. I have had lots of success with my siblings and want to help more kids as well. English can be tricky so I want to be a supportive and helping hand.

I love giving people the knowledge they need to adavance in life. There is something truly special about watching someone understand something for the first time. You're giving them the building blocks to move forward in life and become someone extraordinary.

I would be starting now.

I have taken AP English Language, AP Literature, and creative writing on top of any other standard level English course. I passed by AP exams with a 5 and scored adavanced on the English portion of the SAT.

About the lesson

I like to get to know them and figure out what English class they are in. This allows me to refresh my memory with any literary material or writing techniques that the student may be using. If they are taking an AP class, I like to know if they plan to take the exam so I can start helping them prep for it. If they are in middle or elementary school, I like to find fun ways to teach language arts with drawings or flash cards. If they are passionate about English, then I would start preparing them for AP if they aren't already in it.

I have only worked with siblings and fellow students.

Make sure they goals that match yours. If you want to pass AP exams, find someone who has done that and can help you do the same.

I am very proud of the fact that helped my sister understand the novel "Animal Farm". George Orwell has lots of history and underlying meaning in this utopian novel so it can be difficult to understande. I was able to help her develop an understanding of the novel by giving a brief history lesson and explaining the many literary devices involved.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
