About Brian
Hi!
I have been a professional teacher for over 8 years. I work at local community colleges teaching reading and writing. However, I am also certified to teach ESL. My students' ages range from 6 to 70 years of age. Although these are my areas of expertise, I have studied best-learning practices for many years. I have reviewed the latest research and tested different methodologies in the classroom. I know what works! Whatever topic you need help with, I can help! Sometimes we just need a little guidance or someone on our team to keep pushing us forward when we become weary. If you need an academic trainer, I will be there for you. Let's get started today!
I enjoy doing meaningful work that impacts others' lives in positive ways. I think it is important. And being a tutor gives me the opportunity to continually learn and grow as well.
Like so many others, I had a job that made me miserable. Being a teacher appealed to me because it felt like a vocation rather than a job. I have the opportunity to influence others in meaningful ways rather than just collecting a paycheck.
I earned my Master's degree in English from SFSU. After graduation, I was hired as an Adjunct English Instructor at Foothill College and have been teaching in some capacity since then.

My pricing system is time-based. You are paying $20 for each hour of my time. If you come to me, a one-hour session is $20. If I go to you, a one-hour session plus travel time is $40.
