About Elizabeth
The butterfly effect states that a tiny change in initial conditions can create a significantly different outcome. My weekly meetings with my neighbor, Ms. Nancy, writing fictitious stories and sipping green tea changed the trajectory of my life. From those writing sessions, I gained the skills to impact, persuade and connect with people through my writing, which shaped my interests and led me to pursue a career that allows me to do just that. A job that will enable me to help others see that writing and grammar can be fun only made sense.
As a recent graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill with majors in public relations and psychology, my knowledge of academic and professional writing is fresh. I was always the friend that my peers would ask to review their papers before submission or the one they consulted when they didn't know where to put a comma. To qualify myself further, in order to graduate with a public relations major from UNC, I was required to score a 70 percent or better on a usage and grammar test. The usage and grammar test is designed to evaluate word usage, grammar, and punctuation competencies based on AP Style.

My favorite thing about tutoring is seeing how much a student can grow in such a short time. I have seen shy students completely pivot and become incredibly outgoing simply by developing confidence in their communication skills.
