About Olivera
Hi. My name is Olivera Stankovic. I am an English Professor. I hold a BA and an MA in English and Communication. One thing that really stands out about me is being very inspiring. Regularly, I receive amazing messages from my students whose lives have been changed thanks to my teaching. We all have a lot of problems at home, and I do not like to tranfer my stress to my students. Instead, I love to make my students comfortable. I want them to feel they matter. I want them to rebuild their confidence and interest in learning.
I definetely love my job. I enjoy helping students. I want them to achieve their academic goals. I enjoy establishing a pleasant and active interaction between my students and me. I started tutoring in 1993 in my college years. When I finished my studies, I obtained a full-time position as an English teacher in an elementary and high school in 2000. That was in Europe. I moved to the United States in 2007. I continued my education in 2008. When I finished a Master's in English, I decided to teach again. Now, I teach English Composition at two colleges. I enjoy doing it. It keeps me so alive! I also a published scholar. Other than scholarly articles, I love writing poems. I am planning to publish them in near future. I have a nice collection.
