About Emily
I've been working with children of various ages, preschool through highscool, for almost 15 years. This experience, coupled with my double college majors of English and History, allows me to connect with each child on his or her indivividual level.
I have worked with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, and also with children who are learning English as a second language. It is my goal to be able to give each child the confidence he or she needs in order to excel in their studies through encouragement, understanding, and positive reinforcement.
When I was a child, I had a difficult time relating to adults and the information they were trying to teach me. I enjoy being able help children who might be in the same boat as I was, and connecting with them in a way that I wish someone had been able to do for me.
It brings me joy to see a person overcome an obstable he or she was struggling with and the self-confidence they gain from that personal triumph.
I double majored in English and History in college, and possess an extensive background in working in childcare (all ages) for nearly 15 years.
