About Isabella
Hi everyone! My name is Isabella and I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara where I graduated summa cum laude (highest honors) with a B.A. in Communication, a B.A. in Philosophy, as well as two minors in Professional Writing and German, respectively.
In high school, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and earned a 6 on my IB English HL Exam. I also received a near-perfect score on the writing section of my SAT. I have been editing my own essays as well as the essays of my peers for 6 years and the results have been nothing short of exemplary. As someone who is passionate about writing and also familiar with a variety of different formats (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc.), I would love to spread my knowledge and help those who might need it!
It's very fulfilling to help students refine their writing and help their realize their true potential as writers.
I have a passion for helping others and I love to write and edit.
I have a minor in Professional Writing and majors in Communication and Philosophy, both of which have been very writing-intensive. I have received A's on virtually every essay I have written since age 12 and a near perfect writing score on the SAT.

I would have my new student send me their a past essay with their instructor's comments in addition to the current essay that they are working on to gauge both skill level and the type of writing that the instructor is seeking.
I have worked with students ranging in age from junior high/middle school through high school and college.

Isabella was a really supportive and patient tutor. She helped my learn how to structure my college essays and caught issues in my writing style and helped me improve my writing. She taught me tips and tricks about brainstorming, proofreading, and editing my essay. Really just want to say thank you to Isabella for all your help these past few years! My writing has upgraded tremendously and I wouldn't have improved so much without her tutoring.
Isabella's suggestions have always been precise and thorough with how my essays can better paint a picture of the the points I want to convey. Her comments tackle everything from small but significant changes in word choice to addressing potential counterarguments against your main idea. Above all, her method of tutoring focuses on actively refining your writing style, rather than just replacing it with a voice that is no longer yours.
