About Ashley
I am excited to see my students progress over lessons and see them increase in knowledge. My goal is to educate others about various aspects of English and share my own knowledge. I look forward to creating student to student relationships and personalize lessons based on their needs.
I enjoy working with students who are eager to learn because I am very eager to teach! I am a sophomore (as of 2022) in college and I have had some experience teaching in classrooms and the reason I am here on this website is to increase my teaching experience and be able to learn myself, how to be a better teacher. This is not just a way to make money for me, I am genuinely looking forward to meeting ne students and having the opportunity to help them and share my knowledge!
It began when I was a young girl in Elementary School, teaching my Grandfather in my playroom as he babysit me after school. I have always wanted to teach, it is certainly my passion. I began observing classrooms my freshman year of college and will continue observing and begin student teaching in classrooms. I have taught in my education courses at my college and received feedback and criticism and have improved on those since then.
I graduated in 2021 from Grafton High School, located in Central Massachusetts and I attend Bridgewater State University as a sophomore with a double major in English and Secondary Education! I have observed and began student teaching in my education courses and advanced my knowledge of English Literature in my English courses. I passed my MTEL (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure) in August of 2022 and am on the path to complete my Google Educator Certification.

My process for working with a new student is to begin by establishing a student to student relationship, I am here to teach my student but I don't have authority over you! I will learn about their type of learning that suits them best, what they know, what they want to learn, need help on, etc. in order to create lessons that fit their needs. I will track progress and keep up to date about the pace of learning, material, activities and get feedback from them to make sure they are improving.
I have worked with students in grades 9-14, so roughly aged 14- 21. I was placed in a high school nearby to observe and assist the teacher and have worked with peers my age at my college.
My advice is make sure you find a teacher in the area you are looking for. I personally excel in British Literature, college essays, creative writing, essay writing/revising, fiction writing, grammar, English Literature, literary analysis, persuasive writing, proofreading, reading, Shakespeare, and short/long novel writing. (I am currently writing a book and can also help you with yours; structure/outline, process, breaking up the book into parts, main idea, etc.)
A recent event I am fond of is my experience studying abroad in England in the summer of 2022. I spent my time at Wadham College at the University of Oxford in England studying fantasy literature. I am fond of the opportunity to experience a new country, culture and university!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should prioritize their biggest needs and ask how the teacher will prioritize them. It is important for your needs to be met as a student and for you to be able to improve throughout your lessons. What style of learning do you prefer best? Is it a lecture, reading and answering questions/tests, working together, or anything else. Come to the teacher with this information and I personally will prioritize your needs. After all, I am here to help you learn and improve!
