About Jamie
Hello, my name is Jamie Hoffa and I live in New Jersey. I am a schoolteacher at a private/charter school and I work full-time. I have been teaching for over 15 years, and have a degree and elementary education. I have worked with all ages from children to adults, as well as people with learning challenges or disabilities. I would love to work with you! Please reach out and let me share my expertise with you. I look forward to meeting, working with, and helping you to succeed.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl and practiced on my dolls and stuffed animals with a chalkboard. I spent many hours teaching English and literature to in adamant objects lol I was also influenced by movies such as "Lean on Me," and felt determined to be part of this amazing field that sees students thrive no matter what the circumstances are.
I have a bachelors degree in education with a minor in English and children's literature. I have an ACSI certification and have over 10 years of teaching experience. I have for 5 years and continue to work in healthcare and work as a CNA/CHHA as well as teach. I enjoy teaching English, literature, creative writing, history science, especially biology, and will always strive to set your child up for success!

I will work with your child at his/her pace, and will use graphics and visual aids, to illustrate my points of learning. We will begin on the child's level of performance and build onto what he/she is capable of achieving to reach that child's full potential. I have a fair amount of patience and understanding as I myself, have had to teach my own child with special needs. I use creative methods and present a one-on-one experience for each individual.
K - 8th grade
I would advise that each parent pay attention to a teacher's character, personality, and demeanor. After which, critique their style of teaching and decide if that teacher is the best fit for your child.
I love to visit museums, art exhibits, and especially musical theater. I love nursing so I'm constantly learning about the human body, and enjoy caring for seniors. My favorite thing is vocal performance and at times, enjoy teaching through song🎼
