About Emily

I am patient and understanding of my student's needs. I make learning fun and accessible while making sure I empower my students and help them feel more confident. I take the time to ensure the content is making sense and that they have a full understanding before moving on.

I am passionate about learning and helping a student receive a positive education experience. My goal is to invest in students to help them find new learning styles and feel confident with their coursework in high school and college. I love meeting students from different backgrounds and lifestyles and coming together through learning.

I began working as an online tutor my freshman year of college

I have worked as an online tutor for 4 years, and as an in-person tutor with my university's Center for Academic Success and Advising, which is a CRLA-certified tutoring center. I have led and organized group labs and meetings from ages of preschool to college for thousands of students.

About the lesson

I first assess to see if a student needs 1) occasional help with assignments and homework, 2) needs more comprehensive help and regular meetings, or 3) needs to be taught content and have an individualized learning plan. From here, I assess the student's learning pace and encourage them to meet more or less frequently based on how they're doing.

I have worked with ages preschool through college students. I also work with students who have an IEP, ADD, autism, executive functioning needs, and whose first language is not English.
