About Trista

Hi I am Trista! I grew up in Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Oklahoma, and then I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Pittsburg State University. I have been teaching for 17 years in both traditional classroom settings as well as online school. My teaching certificate is for grades 5-12 in Language Arts, Literature, Reading, and Writing. In addition to these subjects, I have 3 years experience in teaching students math, science, and history. Recently, I have opened my own creativity and learning studio called Revise|Collective in Edmond, Oklahoma. My learning studio is locally owned and operated by ME, an Oklahoma certified teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching in Oklahoma public schools. Our tutoring services are personalized while keeping in line with the Oklahoma Academic State Standards. Our mission is to support both our students AND the educators of our community by helping students stay on track with learning. Please let me know how I can help you stay curious about learning! I can't wait to meet you! You can check out my studio on FB or Insta:

I love working with students. I learn so much from them. That's kinda the point of life, right? That's my philosophy: "I am here to learn." I learn so much by teaching.

Some of the best knowledge I have gained from teaching my kiddos is cultural awareness, patience, diverse learning methods, and grace. One of the things I have learned in recent years from a more technical standpoint is how beneficial virtual learning is for all of us in society. Many students need the structure and traditional routine of a brick and mortar classroom, but many students and families thrive with the flexibility of online learning.

My learning studio is equipped to support both school structures: do you need tutoring for your traditional school building homework? Do you need a study lounge concept for flexible support with your online school work?

I am specialized in support you in any format. Please reach out to me so I can ease your families needs and support you in a successful school path! Finding ways to support my community of families and learners is the driving force behind my passion for education.

I can't wait to meet you!

I have an Oklahoma teaching certificate in English Language Arts, endorsed for grades 5-12. My Bachelor's degree in English Literature, and my Master's is in Education.

My typical process is to hear you out on what you need. Then help you learn the answers to your own questions. I am a writing teacher, so I usually provide editing remarks. When I work through other content outside of writing, I really like to hear students explaing what they DO understand so I can know where to add clarification as needed.
