Well, typically first I will get to know the student. And what their preferences as far as art mediums are concerned. Then I get into the basics of Color coordination and contrast, the foundation of Mixing colors and the basics of the color wheel. Things of that nature, drawing lines, and contour drawing techniques. Which medium would you feel comfortable with? There are many to choose from and different advantages to each.
