About Mariah
You are a gifted artist, searching for a little guidance in your art practice. I work alongside you with private lessons tailored to your particular needs which will bolster your weak areas and highlight your strengths. Beginners are welcome and encouraged; we will cover a wide range of skills and traditional drafting techniques.
I am here to help you discern the direction of your art practice, and will assist with the overwhelming college application process, artist statements and portfolio critiques.
Depending on your goals, classes may evolve. For example, we may begin with traditional drawing/painting sessions, transition into a focused creation time, and eventually brainstorm where you would like your work to go next. I am here to facilitate your growth. These sessions are your time to grow as an artist.
Get ready to bring your sketchbook around town on your new adventure! I am looking forward to supporting you as you realize your creative dreams and surpass your artistic goals.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), which was ranked the #1 art school in the world by U.S. News & World Reports during my time as a student. I received a full scholarship to RISD and graduated with honors. I was a member of the European Honors Program during my time at RISD and have since received artist grants to travel across Europe and the UK. My work has been shown in galleries in Italy and New England, and I have works in private collections internationally. I started teaching art classes ten years ago at a local non-profit, and truly enjoy helping students gain skill and insight in their work.
