About Marie
I am a professionally trained chef and a former high school Home Economics teacher. My background in cooking spans over two decades which involves catering for special events and businesses, culinary instructor for high school students and adults. I graduated with top honors from The Culinary School of Fort Worth and have a catering business serving clients in the North Texas area. As an educator, my goal for all my students is to build a strong foundation in cooking to enable them to transfer the skill and knowledge they learned in all facets of the culinary or pastry arts.
My love is in pastry arts and cake decorating. However, I enjoy creating savory dishes specifically Italian and Asian cuisine. I learned a lot about Asian cuisine (Chinese and Filipino) from my grandmother who was born in Beijing, China and my mom who was born in Shanghai. My specialty is Filipino cuisine which has a lot of, basically what you would call a true melting pot of culinary influences, from European Spanish, Indonesian, Chinese and American.
I am a social butterfly who loves to cook and share my passion and knowledge in cooking. The kitchen is the heart of the home and I try to make it an enjoyable and nourishing place for everyone who gathers around. Fun, Food and Friends!
I am a former Home Economics teacher, so my love for teaching has always been in my heart. I went to culinary school because I wanted to expand my repertoire in both culinary and pastry arts, then share my knowledge and skills with others so that they also may enjoy the unlimited rewards of cooking delicious food.
I am a professionally trained chef who graduated with top honors at The Culinary School of Fort Worth. Also, I am a certified Family and Consumer Science / Home Economics teacher who has taught hundreds of high schoolers and adults the foundations of cooking, as well as tips and tricks to make cooking a great experience to be had by everyone.

My typical process is to interview a new student to find out specifically what they are looking for, the format that they would like to have (whether it is an individual or group class), and other pertinent information that I may need to make the experience a success.
I have worked with all age range of students - from elementary, to high school to adults. Basically, I'm an all-around kind-of-teacher.
The recent event that I am fond of is being called to join as a contestant for "The Great Food Truck Race".
