About Amanda
I love Chemistry and teaching students. It is what brings me joy! I love to help students reach their goals in a tough subject matter.
I love working with different students with different styles of learning. I meet my students where they are and tailor my approach to the individual!
Chemistry has been my passion since high school. As I went through graduate school, I realized how much I enjoyed tutoring and helping students find success in a subject matter that is my passion, which lead me to seeking out my first teaching position.
I have a B.A. and M.S. in Chemistry from Franklin & Marshall
College and Georgetown University, respectively. I have been tutoring for the past 16 years and teaching for the past 12 years.

I ask them a series of questions to assess where they are. What are different types of topics that they are struggling with? Are they struggling with homework, even when they feel like they are understanding in class? Is it the test that gives them the most problems? These types of questions give me a snapshot of tools I should give the student to be successful and how I sould present the material and practice it with them.
I have worked with advanced/AP/IB Chemsitry students in high school, special education students, and college level students.
