About Melina
I worked as a general chemistry tutor for several semsters as an undergrad student. I love helping other students suceed. Now that I've graduated with a bachelors degree, I want to continue helping high school and college students conquer one of the most dreaded subjects: chemistry!
My general chemistry professor offered me a job as a tutor after I did very well in the class. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue after graduating college.
I majored in Biology, and I worked as a general chemistry tutor for several semsters.

First, it's important to know what level of chemistry class they are in. Next, I'll find out if they need help with a specific concept, or if they are struggling in general. I also like to know the format of their class, so we can follow along what they're studying in class. After I've identified what concepts they need help with, we work through them together.
Most of my experience is with college students, however I can also help high school chemistry students as well. I have also worked with international students from many countries, so I am prepared to work through language and culture barriers as well.
Students often want tutors to just tell them the answer. Howver, this won't help you when you have to pass a final. Look for a tutor who will push you, but still walk you through diffucult concepts. A student should feel confident in their own abilities after a tutoring session.
