About Kirsten
I grew up with a passion for science. This devotion to the field is combined with a passion for education. I will help students achieve their goals by expanding their understanding of concepts, sharing my tips and tricks, and providing helpful resources.
This is my first year as a certified middle school special education teacher. I currently teach 8th grade science and writing. To date, I have taken over 12 hours of Anatomy and Physiology at the college level. My background also includes being a Certified Health Education Specialist.
I love watching my students grow! Science has many concepts and a lot of memorization is required before we can connect these concepts to the big picture. It is amazing watching things "click" in a student's mind.
I started tutoring struggling readers at the elementary level when I was in college. My experience in college also included planning and leading exercise at the individual and group level.
I am a certified special education teacher and teach 8th grade science and writing. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist.
